Terms of service

These terms apply when you book tuition with TutorsNI, which is run by Tutors NI Ltd. They sit alongside your statutory rights as a consumer, which they do not reduce. Questions? Email info@tutorsni.com or WhatsApp +44 7356 093282.

You can ask for tuition through our website forms, by WhatsApp, phone or email. A booking is confirmed when we confirm the educator, day and time to you in writing (email or WhatsApp). Sessions last one hour unless we agree otherwise.

A parent or guardian must make the booking for any student under 18 and is responsible for payment.

Your first consultation and your child's first lesson with their matched educator are free. There is no obligation to book anything afterwards and we never ask for card details for the free lesson. The free first lesson is offered once per student.

One-to-one sessions start from £27.50 per hour for KS3, £30.00 for GCSE and £32.50 for A-Level. The final price depends on the subject and level, and we always confirm it before your first paid session. Current prices are on our pricing page.

GCSE and A-Level packages paid in advance carry a discount: 5% off 8 lessons, or 10% off 16 lessons. School group sessions are priced separately (£75 per hour, subject to discount — block bookings and multi-group timetables cost less.).

You can cancel or move a session free of charge if you give us at least 24 hours' notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed, may be charged in full (or taken from your package).

If we or your educator need to cancel, we'll give you as much notice as possible and offer another time. If we can't rearrange, you won't be charged and any prepaid session is credited or refunded.

If you book at a distance (online, by phone or WhatsApp), you have 14 days from the booking to cancel for any reason. If you ask us to start sessions within those 14 days, you'll only pay for the sessions already delivered.

You can pause tuition at any time — for exams, holidays or a break — by letting us know. Prepaid sessions stay on your account while paused.

Packages are paid in advance and used with the same educator and time slot where possible. If you stop tuition, we'll refund any unused prepaid lessons at the discounted per-lesson price you paid. We aim to refund within 14 days of your request.

You can ask to change educator at any time, for any reason, at no cost. We'll match someone new as quickly as we can.

• Sessions use the platform and link we send you; please don't share the link.
• Students should join from a shared or open space at home where possible, dressed as they would be for school, and a parent or guardian should be at home during the session.
• Sessions are not recorded unless we ask for and receive your written permission.
• We may end a session if behaviour is abusive or unsafe.

Every educator has an enhanced AccessNI check, a panel interview and an observed teaching session before working with students. TutorsNI has a named safeguarding lead. If something isn't right, tell us and we'll do our best to put it right quickly. These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland.
